Scott Hime

Scott has a deep interest in two diverse fields, Photography and Woodturning.

Born in 1953, Scott Hime had both of his interests, photography and woodworking, start in high school. He married his high school sweetheart, Jenny, in 1976 and had two children a few years later.

He now has 5 grandchildren and is surrounded by noisy love.

Scott Hime graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in 1972. He earned his BA (1977) in Anthropology from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

He continued his education at the Ohio Institute of Photography in 1979 where he graduated with a degree in Portraiture (1981).

Scott Hime started his portrait business, Hime Photography, in 1981 in Sarasota, Fl. He moved from a home based business to a studio location in 1982. He continued for 40 years photographing Portraits, Weddings, and Commercial.

He Semi-Retired in 2020 and moved his business back to his home and continues to service his past clients with a mix of a few new ones thrown in.

Scott’s two main pursuits are photography and woodturning. intertwined through the years with one taking the lead for a few years and then the other, jumping back and forth. Scott says whether they are classified as hobbies or art is up to the viewer.

Scott also likes to read, cook, cycle and play pickleball.
